LIng Publishing LLC was developed by Emanuel T. Shorten Sr. and Quentin Samuels in order to assist unknown authors free and incarcerated reach the masses with literary works of all genres. Both were childhood friends who grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. Being of a dark hue decent, they were faced with multiple trials and tribulations throughout life. Both being proud father's, they are aware of the importance of making reading fundamental for early learning.
While choosing different paths in life the two were reunited to form Ling Publishing LLC. The "ing" is a suffix meaning used to connect with a specific thing or concept. The "L" is for Literature connected to make Ling.
Quentin is free while Emanuel is serving a 18 year Federal prison sentence for a ghost-dope crack cocaine drug conspiracy. While imprisoned Emanuel has strived to be productive and stay out of trouble by reading, working in Unicor and programming consistently.
While being away from his children he began writing children books dedicated to his love for his children and all kids in general. Emanuel took his youngest children and wrote storylines with them as the subject characters in two of the first three books published. They are "Counting Candles" and "My Dad Loves Me" coming in 2023.
Quentin's brother is currently serving 30 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, giving Quentin access to dozens of inspiring authors. Through a phone between Emanuel and Quentin they put together the idea for Ling Publishing LLC to publish Emanuel's children books, other incarcerated authors literary visions of all genres also allowing them to publish anyone or anything under the Ling Publishing LLC umbrella. Future publications to include poetry, self-help, cookbooks, science fiction, picture books and other genres of literary works published globally.
